En 1989 « Le septième continent (Der Siebente kontinent)» son premier long métrage sort en salle après avoir été refusé par la télé. Le volet suivant «Benny’s Video(1992)» nous conte un adolescent vivant dans un milieu bourgeois coupé de toutes communications avec sa famille trop absente et se réfugiant dans son unique passion : la vidéo.
